I have been a loyal Funtastic networker since the inception. Mark Boever and Dick Deschane (organizers) have done a fabulous job of spicing up the rigors of networking. They get the crowd moving and milling and draw lots of new faces each month. I’ve never been a fan of “ice-breakers” because they immediately take you out of your comfort zone in front of strangers. Mark and Dick have reinvented this once awkward and evil necessity. Each month they devise a game relevant to the venue, theme, location …… You are not required to play but who wouldn’t want to share in the laughter and chances to win the donated prizes. This is also a fun way to meet some of those new faces and start forging a relationship. Every month, Funtastic is held at a different venue. This gives the venues a chance to show the movers and shakers of SEWI what they have to offer. This also attracts new people to the events. This to me is the critical part because I love meeting new people, hearing their story and seeing if there might be someway we could help each other develop our businesses. I have received a number of great leads through Funtastic; a number of which
have turned into business. The business I’ve gained has more
than offset the nominal cost to attend. Thanks Mark and Dick for thinking
